エモロック/ポップパンクの一時代を築いたHey Mondayのフロントマン、Cassadee Pope がニュー・シングル「Three Of Us」を配信リリースしました。ここ数ヶ月、幾つも新曲を発表してきた彼女だが、遂にソロアルバムをリリースすることをアナウンスしている。Cassadeeは、「サプライズ！今回ニュー・シングル “Three Of Us “をリリースしただけでなく、アルバム “Hereditary “を2024年7月12日にリリースすることをやっと伝えることができるわ！このアルバムは、これまでリリースしたどの作品よりも、私と、私の物語を明らかにしてくれるの。このアルバムは、私がこれまでリリースしてきたどの作品よりも、私と私の物語を明らかにするものになっているわ」とコメントしている。
「Three Of Us」は、アコースティックギターが印象的な、薬物使用によって失われた関係を歌った曲。歌詞は、”でも、それはあなたと私／そしてドラッグが3人を作る／もし彼らがとてもいいなら／どうすれば私は太刀打ちできる？／あなたは私がめちゃくちゃだと言うのが好き／それはあなたと私かドラッグか／私たち3人とはもうおさらばよ”といった刺激的なものだ。
Cassadeeはこの曲について、「愛する人が中毒と闘っているのを見るのがどれほど心が痛むかを歌っている。今まで書いたことのないテーマだけど、ファンと分かち合いたいと感じている。そして残念なことに、彼らの多くが同じような経験をしていることを知っている」とコメントした。

Hey Monday‘s Cassadee Pope has returned with a brand-new single, “Three Of Us.” The track was preceded by “People That I Love Leave,” “Eye Contact,” and “Almost There.” But that’s not all… She also announced a new forthcoming solo album.
“SURPRISE! Not only is my new single “Three Of Us” out, but I finally get to tell you that my album “Hereditary” drops July 12th! This record reveals more about me and my story than anything I’ve ever released in the past. Strap in… it’s gunna be a wild ride,” she said on X/Twitter.
“Three Of Us” is a deeply personal, acoustic guitar-laced track recounting a relationship gone due to substance use. “But it’s you and me/And the drugs make three/If they’re so damn good/How could I compete?/You love to say that I’m fucked up/It’s either you and me or the drugs/’Cus I’m done with the three of us.”
Pope shares that the song “is about how heartbreaking it is to watch someone you love struggle with addiction. It’s a subject I’ve never written about but feel ready to share with my fans. And unfortunately, I know many of them have experienced something similar.” Check out “Three Of Us” below.
