オーストラリアを拠点に活動するポップパンク・バンド、Between You & Meが、4月の頭にリリースした6曲入りEP『SH!T YEAH』に続き、シカゴのポップパンク・バンド、Knuckle Puckをフィーチャーした楽曲「Kill My Vibe」のミュージックビデオを公開しました。
EPのオープニング・トラックであり、作品の中でも傑出した存在である「Kill My Vibe」は、中毒性の高いポップパンク・ダンス・チューンで、脳の最も深い隙間に入り込んでいくだろう。この曲がリリースされた2024年4月初頭、バンドはXで「僕は文字通りKnucklePuckを聴いて育ったんだ。バンドは僕らの初期の音楽の多くを形作ったし、2024年には一緒に曲をリリースした……。本当にクールなことだよ」と興奮気味にコメントしている。
また、Xへの最近の投稿で、バンドはインディーズとしての最近の道のりを語っている。「Between You & Meは常にDIYバンドであったが、最近になって、自分たちのレーベルBYAM RECORDSを設立し、自分たちでマネージメントすることに決めたんだ。この決断をしたのは、いつか自分たちの仕事にできるよう、できる限りのことをしたいからだ。数ヶ月に及ぶ新作「SH!T YEAH」EPのツアーを終え、3週間後には過去最大規模のオーストラリア・ツアーを行うために帰国するよ」とファンに伝えた。
Following the arrival of their most recent six-track EP, SH!T YEAH, which dropped earlier this month, Aussie natives Between You & Me have launched the official accompanying video for “Kill My Vibe,” which features Chicago pop-punkers Knuckle Puck.
Acting as both the opening track of the collection and a standout amongst the tracklisting, “Kill My Vibe” is an infectious, dance-worthy tune that will worm its way into the deepest crevices of your brain. At the time of the track’s release at the start of April 2024, the band shared on X (formerly Twitter), “I literally grew up listening to Knuckle Puck. Band shaped a lot of our earlier music and in 2024 we released a fkn song together. That shit is really cool man.”
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the band shares their recent journey as an independent group. “Between You & Me have always been a DIY band, and as of recently, we have decided to establish our own label BYAM RECORDS and self manage ourselves. We have made this decision as we want to do everything we can to ensure that we can one day, make this our job. After months of touring our new ‘SH!T YEAH’ EP, we come home to do our biggest ever Australian tour, in 3 weeks time.”
