マルチ・プラチナムを誇るカナダ・バンクーバー出身のポップロック・バンド、Marianas Trenchが、ニュー・シングル「I’m Not Getting Better」を604 Records / Warner Music Canadaからリリースしました。この曲は、アメリカの神話学者ジョセフ・キャンベルの書「英雄の旅」の3番目の筋書きに沿ったストーリーで、英雄が冒険への召命を拒む原因となる恐れや不安、そしてそれを乗り越えるために必要なことについて歌っている。
「I’m Not Getting Better」は、紛れもなくキャッチーな「Lightning and Thunder」と、自分がもっと何かを求めていたことを知ることを歌った「A Normal Life」に続いて発表されたシングル。 「A Normal Life」は、2019年にリリースされ高い評価を得たアルバム『Phantoms』以来、バンドにとって初のスタジオ新作となる。 3曲の新曲はすべて、今夏後半にリリースが予定されているバンドの待望の次作に収録されるとのこと。楽しみに待とう!
Multi-platinum-selling Canadian pop-rock band Marianas Trench have released their new single, “I’m Not Getting Better”, today via 604 Records / Warner Music Canada. The song, which corresponds to the third plot point featured in Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero’s Journey”, is about the fear or insecurity that causes a hero to refuse their call to adventure – and what it takes to get past that.
“I’m Not Getting Better” comes on the heels of the undeniably catchy “Lightning and Thunder” and “A Normal Life,” a track about knowing you were meant for something more. “A Normal Life” was the band’s first new studio release since their acclaimed 2019 album, Phantoms. All three new tracks will appear on the band’s highly-anticipated forthcoming album, which is slated to be released later this summer.
