2024年、ニューアルバム『Saviors』をリリースしたパンクロック・バンド、Green Dayが、最新アルバム収録曲「Corvette Summer」のミュージックビデオを公開しました。このビデオはRyan Baxley とBrendan Walter によってディレクションされ、Alice Baxleyがプロデュースを務めた。
この曲は、メンバーが大好きだという1978年に公開されたアメリカのアドベンチャー・コメディ映画『コルベット・サマー』にちなんで名付けられた。ミュージックビデオには、『スター・ウォーズ』のルーク・スカイウォーカー役で知られ、同映画で主演したMark Hamill、コメディアンのHannibal Buress、そして、Green Dayのメンバーが出演しています。ビデオでは、Green Dayのメンバーが1970年代の中学校の同級生に扮し、教師役のBuressに、夏の間ずっとかけて作ったビデオを流してほしいと頼むところからスタートする。続きはこちらから!
Green Day have released a video for “Corvette Summer.” In an homage to the original film, Mark Hamill has a cameo, as does Hannibal Buress. That’s off the recently released Saviors album.
Rev up those engines, the Corvette Summer music video is here and it’s one wild ride!! The song was named after one of our favorite cult classic movies, so it only made sense to pay homage to it with the music video. We even took things one step further and got Mark Hamill (who starred in the original) to star in our remake alongside us, Hannibal Buress, and some others. We blew the entire budget on them so we had to get creative with cardboard boxes, some duct tape and matchbox cars we found in Tre’s basement. Directed by the dynamic duo Ryan Baxley & Brendan Walter. Buckle up, and enjoy the ride!
