Cassadee Popeが2023年にリリースした楽曲「Wasting All These Tears」をリライトし、新バージョンとしてリリース、ミュージックビデオを公開しました。元々エモロック・バンド、Hey Mondayのフロントマンとしてブレイクし、ソロデビューしたあとはカントリー・シーンで活躍していた。ここ数年は再びロックのフィールドへと戻り、まるでテイラー・スウィフトとデミ・ロヴァートの再レコーディングのような「Wasting All These Tears (Cassadee’s Version)」で再び注目を集めている。
Cassadeeはストロベリーブロンドの髪に黒ずくめ姿で、月が輝くゴージャスな夜の背景の前で歌っている。歌詞は、どんなジャンルで歌われても難なくエモく輝きを放つようなセンチメンタルな趣があり、「I wish I could erase our memory/’Cause you didn’t give a damn about me/Oh, finally I’m through, wasting all these tears on you. (僕らの記憶を消せたらいいのに／だって君は僕のことなんてどうでもよかったんだ／ああ、やっと終わったよ、君のために涙を無駄にして)」 と歌っている。
