アメリカ・ワイオミング州ララミーのポップパンク・バンド “Teenage Bottlerocket” が、ニューシングル「Teenage Bonehead」を7月31日にPirates Press Recordsからリリースした。同曲は、”The Queers”とのスプリット7インチに収録される。スプリット盤はPirates Press RecordsとRad Girlfriend Recordsから8月7日に発売される。長年にわたってツアーやライブで共演し、互いに影響と敬意を共有してきた両バンドだが、スプリット作品を正式に発表するのは今回が初となる。
本作では、それぞれが相手の代表曲をカバー。”Teenage Bottlerocket”は”The Queers”の「Teenage Bonehead」を演奏し、”The Queers”は”Teenage Bottlerocket”の「Blood Bath at Burger King」を「Hog Log at Burger King」として再解釈している。
両バンドはこれまでにもカバー曲を数多く発表しており、フルアルバム規模のカバー作品も制作してきた。今回のスプリット盤では、世代の異なる2組のポップパンク・バンドが互いの楽曲を取り上げる構成となった。アナログ盤は3種類の仕様で制作される。Pirates Press Records版のOrange Crushが500枚、Rad Girlfriend Records版のMilky Clearが500枚、バンド版のブルー／オレンジ・ハーフ＆ハーフにブラック・スプラッターを施した仕様が300枚限定で販売される。
